Randy's Road: From Drug Dealing to Sobriety and Adventure

This is a miracle, and it's all because I took and I followed some suggestions and I did those steps and I just took some suggestions and got a sponsor and hung out with the right people and did the right step and finally got that spiritual connection and got that thing that I was looking for the whole time.
Imagine living a life so entangled in addiction that it takes you from dealing drugs to exploring some of the world's most iconic landmarks. Randy H.'s story is just that. Now celebrating 15 years of sobriety, Randy reflects on his two-decade-long struggle with drug dealing, addiction, and alcoholism. At 18, he left his parents' home and began selling drugs to support his habit.
His journey took him to Mexico, where he sold time shares while consuming large amounts of cocaine and alcohol daily. But his story doesn’t end there. Randy’s path to recovery led him back to the United States, where he stumbled upon an AA meeting just blocks from his job. With the help of a sponsor and a supportive community, he managed to turn his life around. Today, Randy’s life is a testament to the transformative power of recovery.
He has traveled to places like Machu Picchu, Uganda, and even Mount Kilimanjaro, finding inspiration and a renewed perspective on life. His story underscores the importance of community support and the endless possibilities that come with sobriety. Whether you’re struggling with addiction or supporting someone who is, Randy’s journey offers hope and encouragement. Tune in to hear how he got the monkey off his back and embraced a life of adventure and sobriety.
