Growing up in a sheltered environment, he was unprepared for the harsh realities of addiction and trauma, which left him feeling confused and isolated. Struggling academically, Jefferson turned to drugs and alcohol as a way to cope with his emotions. Despite facing severe legal consequences, he found it difficult to ask for help and eventually became homeless. It was a volunteer position at a treatment center that marked the beginning of his journey towards recovery.
