Sober Festivals: Finding Joy Without Alcohol
I completely trusted myself, um, yeah, and that if I had been drinking, even if I'd only had, say, two or three in the evening when we got there- um, you know, like later on, if I hadn't drunk All Day but I just had a couple of drinks, which would be completely plausible, I wouldn't have trusted myself to go away from them.
Ever thought festivals are only fun with a drink in hand? Think again. In this engaging episode of the Sobertown Podcast, Corinna sits down with Imust, who is on the brink of celebrating her first year of sobriety. Imust was the very first person to share their story on Sobertownpodcast.com, and she's back to bust the myth that you can't have fun without alcohol.
She shares her vibrant experience of attending her first sober festival with her family and how it transformed her perspective on enjoyment and connection.
As she puts it, 'I still feel like I'm learning who I am and what kind of things I like, and going to festivals, I can't say it today, but going to festivals and dancing with strangers in the dark and finding out: hey, I can do that as well, and I enjoyed it, is, um, yeah, it's all good, fantastic, fantastic'.
This episode also dives into the importance of encouraging sober activities for teens and discovering new hobbies in sobriety. Imust's journey is a testament to the unexpected joys that come with a sober life. Whether you're new to sobriety or supporting someone who is, this episode is a refreshing reminder that fun and fulfillment don't require a drink in hand.
