From Dysfunction to Function: Paul's Journey to Emotional Sobriety

I think, in my opinion, is plenty if you've got that strong emotional sobriety, you dealt with your own crap and with the right people, and as long as you have that foundation of your own sobriety to go and help others because you know what it's like to be sober, it's like there's that investment that you have, that emotional investment in their lives that you really want to help them, because you know what it's like to be suffering so much and you want to help them.
In this episode of Sober Gratitudes, Sarah Elizabeth interviews Paul Silva, of paulsilvacoaching.com, to discuss the mind shift that occurs when one stops drinking and gets emotionally sober. They talk about the dangers of comparing stories in recovery, the positive changes that come after quitting alcohol, and the importance of having control over one's life. Paul also shares his experience of making a career shift and helping others in recovery.
One of the key takeaways from this episode is the importance of emotional sobriety, dealing with one's own issues, and having a foundation of sobriety before helping others.
As Paul says, 'there's that investment that you have, that emotional investment in their lives that you really want to help them, because you know what it's like to be suffering so much and you want to help them.' Overall, this episode is informative, hopeful, encouraging, educational, and supportive, and is a must-listen for anyone seeking guidance on their recovery journey.
