I really believe, in my heart, that as more therapists come online that have actually done real deep work, this will start to change. It's just a matter of keeping the people that know what they're doing, like maps, on the radar and getting the people that don't know what they're doing and just trying to capitalize on the psychedelic gold rush, or they're just trying to have their sense of purpose, getting them off the radar, but not, but unfortunately they tend to be the ones that are squawking the loudest.
What if the key to healing trauma lies in a realm many consider controversial? In this episode of 'Behavioral Health Integration,' host Jacob Minnig sits down with Richard O'Bannon and Shannon Duncan to discuss the transformative potential of psychedelic therapy. Shannon shares his personal journey, revealing how psychedelics helped him confront and heal deep-seated trauma.
He also talks about his motivations behind his book, 'Coming Full Circle: Healing Trauma Using Psychedelics.' Richard chimes in with his reflections on the book and its impact on public awareness about psychedelics. The conversation doesn't shy away from critical issues like the necessity of well-trained therapists, the risks posed by unqualified practitioners, and the importance of somatic body experiencing in therapy.
Whether you're skeptical or curious about psychedelics, this episode offers a thoughtful exploration into their potential as a therapeutic tool.
