From Jimi Hendrix to Finding Inner Peace: A Story of Recovery

What has helped me in life in so many ways is all these little bits from all these different parts of life.
In this episode of Atheists in Recovery, host Adina Silvestri speaks with Dorri, a self-proclaimed 'devout atheist,' about her journey to finding a higher power and overcoming addiction. Dorri shares her unconventional path to spirituality, which included idolizing Jimi Hendrix and meditating to find inner peace. However, her addiction and childhood experiences, including her father's stolen Nazi dagger and her escape game in fifth grade, led her down a dangerous path of blackout drinking and drug use.
Despite this, she found support from loved ones and discovered that recovery is not a one-size-fits-all journey. Dorri's story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of love and community in overcoming addiction. Listen to this episode now on alcoholfree.com.
