James M's Step 6: Tackling Character Defects on the Path to Recovery

I'm becoming willing to have these defects of character removed. To me, defects of character are really behaviours, patterns of behaviours, thinking patterns. You know victim thinking loops that continue in my mind, in my psyche, in my body, my experience of life, that are holding me back from the life that I want.
Ever wake up feeling like the weight of the world is on your shoulders? James M knows that feeling all too well. In this episode of 'Understanding Violence Addiction', he dives into his personal experience with Step 6 of recovery. It's a day where sadness, fatigue, and low-level triggers have taken hold, but James doesn't shy away from sharing his raw and honest journey. Step 6 is all about becoming willing to have one's defects of character removed.
These are the behaviors and thought patterns that keep us stuck in cycles we desperately want to break free from. James opens up about the importance of envisioning a better future and how guided meditation with Joe Dispenza has helped him along the way. He also touches on the heavy impact of grief and loss, and how distinguishing between genuine feelings and falling into victim loops can be a game-changer.
Vulnerability takes center stage as James admits to waking up in a funk and struggling to be present with his emotions. But he reminds us that healing is a journey, and it's okay to have off days. The key is to take it one day at a time and keep pushing forward. This episode is a heartfelt reminder that even on the toughest days, progress is possible.
