Behind the Scenes at NYC's Lower East Side Harm Reduction Center
Syringe exchange in general is obviously a public health initiative, but we realize that our population experience other health-related needs, and so some of the other services that we provide are screening tests for hiv, for hepatitis c, as well as vaccinations for hepatitis a and b, to make sure that folks are able to access healthcare and, if the service can't be provided here, that we can refer them to resources where they can receive primary care or specialty care as needed.
Ever wondered what it takes to run a harm reduction center in one of the busiest cities in the world?
