Rolling Away Denial: Easter's Lessons in Al-Anon Recovery

I wasn't able to move into a solution, I wasn't able to move into any kind of recovery, but I was not able to break that denial on my own. And just as in the story of Easter, where Mother Mary and Mary Magdalene are walking to the tomb to prepare Jesus's body for burial and they're wondering who's going to roll away the stone, because they knew that they themselves were not capable of doing that thing and they had faith that there would be somebody that there would be help to do that.

Ever felt trapped by denial and despair? Episode 147 of 'The Recovery Show' draws a powerful parallel between the story of Easter and the journey through Al-Anon's 12-step recovery. The host opens up about their own battle with isolation and denial while dealing with their wife's alcoholism. This episode dives into the meaning of Easter in the context of recovery, highlighting the importance of seeking help and community support. It’s a reminder that you’re not alone, and that healing is possible with the right tools and support system. Tune in to find out how to roll away your own stones of denial and find serenity in the midst of life's challenges.
