Wendy E.'s Path to Sobriety: A Story of Resilience and Rediscovery

I started to hear my story, you know, and I learned that I wasn't alone in that, that I wasn't alone with my suitcase, you know, and that other people had their own suitcases. It was this relief that I didn't have to deny anymore.
Ever wondered how someone can rise above the shadows of addiction and mental health struggles to find a new sense of self? In this episode of 2 Sober Chicks' Speaker Series, Wendy E. opens up about her deeply personal journey from the grips of alcoholism, PTSD, and anxiety to a life filled with hope and self-discovery. Growing up in a family where alcoholism was prevalent, Wendy thought she could escape that fate.
But as adulthood brought its own set of challenges, including workaholism, she found herself turning to alcohol to cope with stress and anxiety. It wasn’t until a workplace intervention that Wendy faced the reality of her addiction and sought help through AA and the 12 Steps. Her recovery journey wasn't easy. Alongside battling alcoholism, Wendy dealt with complex PTSD, clinical depression, and an eating disorder. However, she found strength in forming healthy relationships and rediscovering her identity.
Wendy's story is a powerful reminder of the importance of community and the ongoing commitment required for personal growth and healing. If you're looking for an inspiring tale of resilience, this episode is a must-listen.
