Phyllis Rogers: Defying Parkinson's Through Fitness and Faith
I don't need to have this thing, this problem with my body, and somehow with that I still take the medication and I've had quite a trouble getting my hip. Actually it's a,-c,-i,-a, and I mean I don't know if any of these would help anybody else. It really helps keep you from getting sick. And I take hawthorne, but that's because I have mitral valve prolapse, and that helps.
Imagine being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and, five years later, finding yourself virtually symptom-free. That's the remarkable journey of Phyllis Rogers. In this episode of 'Pathways to Parkinson's Relief', hosted by Robert Rodgers, Phyllis opens up about her battle with Parkinson's and the therapies that transformed her life. Diagnosed five years ago, Phyllis faced numerous challenges, including hip surgery that slowed her down. But she never lost hope.
She credits a combination of medication, specific supplements, exercise, and diet for her incredible recovery. Phyllis also shares a unique aspect of her journey: a conversation with God, where she felt reassured that she didn't need to live with Parkinson's. Today, as a certified exercise therapist, she dedicates her time to helping adults achieve physical fitness and is the author of 'Over 40 and Gettin' Stronger'.
Phyllis highlights the significance of attending the Parkinson's Recovery Summit in Cincinnati, Ohio, as a pivotal resource for anyone seeking to make informed decisions about their treatment options. The summit offers valuable insights into therapies that have helped many reverse their symptoms and live symptom-free lives. Phyllis's story is a testament to hope, resilience, and the power of holistic approaches in managing Parkinson's disease.
