I found that, I don't know, you probably find the same, but middle-aged women is the demographic that I'm working with the most because that's where dysfunctional drinking seems to be happening so much. I run programs, courses that create community at the same time as offering support so women come into my programs and they feel a sense of connection with others and that they've got other people on the journey with them so they don't feel so alone.
Ever felt like the holidays are a minefield for your sobriety? You're not alone. In this episode, Danni Carr chats with sober coach and mentor Sarah Rusbatch about her journey from childhood binge drinking to becoming a beacon of support for others. Sarah opens up about how early insecurities and a need for acceptance fueled her drinking habits, leading to some wild party years. But it didn't stop there.
Motherhood and a move to Australia brought new challenges, and Sarah found herself drinking more as she battled loneliness and the monotony of parenting in a new country. Sarah's story is one of transformation and resilience. She talks candidly about the struggles of facing family triggers during the holiday season and the importance of being honest about your feelings. It's not just about avoiding alcohol; it's about finding genuine connections and support.
If you're a middle-aged woman navigating sobriety, Sarah's insights are especially valuable. She discusses her work in supporting women through programs and coaching, helping them build a community and live fulfilling lives without alcohol. Whether you're looking for practical tips or just a bit of inspiration, this episode offers a heartfelt look at the ups and downs of the sober journey.
