Kicking Off with Kindness: Oxfordshire Recovery College's Well-being Podcast
The whole point of this podcast really is that obviously that the college at the moment isn't functioning in the kind of physical realm, but we do want to obviously get our students involved and still speak to our students in in some kind of way.
Starting a new journey can be daunting, but the Oxfordshire Recovery College is here to make it easier with their very first podcast episode. Hosted by the college's tutor coordinator and featuring guest Peter Peternecker, this episode is all about staying connected and caring for your mental health, especially in challenging times like these.
The college has had to put a pause on its physical activities due to the pandemic, but that hasn't stopped them from finding new ways to support their students. This podcast is their latest effort to keep everyone engaged and feeling supported. In this episode, you'll hear updates about the college, get insights into the Forensic Spoke, and learn about the Five Ways to Well-being.
These five ways—connecting with others, being active, taking notice, learning, and giving—are practical steps anyone can take to improve their mental health. The hosts and guest share personal stories and tips on how they've been incorporating these practices into their own lives. They emphasize the importance of maintaining social connections, even when we can't be physically close. A simple call or message to a friend or family member can make a big difference.
You'll also hear about the beauty of taking notice of the world around us. Whether it's appreciating a blooming flower or enjoying a quiet moment in nature, finding joy in small things can boost your well-being. The episode wraps up with an invitation for listeners to share their own experiences and suggestions for future topics. It's a warm, engaging conversation that's sure to leave you feeling inspired and supported.
Tune in and take the first step towards better well-being with the Oxfordshire Recovery College.
