Blending Homeopathy and Herbal Medicine with Emma Dalton
Episode Overview
- Start with what the patient says they need, then build care around their own priorities and language.
- Diet, lifestyle and maintaining causes can be as important as diagnosis labels or test results.
- Conventional blood tests can still offer valuable clues when interpreted through a broader lens.
- Herbs such as milk thistle, teasel and Albizia can gently support organs and mood alongside homeopathic remedies.
- Aim for the minimum effective dose, whether using homeopathy or herbal medicine, and adjust as the person improves.
“I’ve had enough. You have got to go and train as a homeopath.”
Curious about how others navigate their sobriety journey? This conversation on the Homeopathy Health show spotlights how different healing systems can work side by side, with a big focus on real-life experience and practical care. Hosts Atiq Ahmad Bhatti and Naila Cheema welcome long-time practitioner and educator Emma Dalton, whose career spans homeopathy, herbal medicine, functional medicine and biodynamic craniosacral therapy.
With over two decades in complementary healthcare, she shows how you can blend approaches without losing sight of the person in front of you. Emma shares how chronic illness in her teens and early twenties led her to homeopathy, after conventional treatment left her with strict medical limitations and few answers. A memorable turning point comes when her NHS GP, himself a homeopath, throws his pen across the desk and says, “I’ve had enough.
You have got to go and train as a homeopath.” From there, she trains at the College of Practical Homeopathy and gradually builds a genuinely integrative practice. You’ll hear how Emma starts every consultation by asking what the patient actually wants help with, then works collaboratively around diet, lifestyle, prescriptions and test results. She explains why “how someone fills in the form is interesting” and why signs and symptoms can matter more than expensive private tests.
The chat also gets into organ support with herbs, the difference between herbal tinctures and mother tinctures, and why adaptogenic herbs and remedies like milk thistle, teasel and Albizia can make such a difference for people living with long-term stress or complex health issues.
If you’re interested in joining the dots between homeopathy, herbal medicine and broader wellbeing – especially in a modern, toxic, high-stress world – this one might get you thinking about what a truly joined-up approach to care could look like for you.
