What keeps someone sober for 30 years? For Matt F., it was a mix of desperation, fear, and eventually, faith. In this episode of the Daily Reflection Podcast, Matt opens up about his transformative journey through the Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) program. Early on, Matt struggled with the concept of a Higher Power. He relied solely on the structure and support of AA to stay sober.

His sponsor suggested he use the group as his Higher Power, which helped him navigate those tough early days. Over time, listening to others share their experiences gave Matt hope and slowly built his faith in something greater than himself. Now, that faith, combined with honesty and willingness to work the Steps, provides him with a sense of serenity. Even during the pandemic, Matt found that the power of sharing and listening remained strong, whether in person or over Zoom.

This episode is a heartfelt testament to the power of community and faith in overcoming addiction.
