“The overriding message in this as we wrap up is how can I show kindness to myself on the receiving end to knowing I'm going to make mistakes? But when I do, I can repair that and just admit that and say, hey, can we reset? I kind of checked out on you. This is too important. You know what's happening for you and then be able to just be present and be aware when you see something shift in them. See what's happening in them. Check in with them. What's that like to share that? I'm here for you. Hey, you didn't deserve that. To be able to courageously speak some of those truths. Not to tell them they shouldn't feel sad. Not to tell them they shouldn't feel angry. But to say it makes sense. You didn't deserve that. And I wish that you didn't have to face that when I can see someone gets it and understands my story. It's just like this big, somebody finally sees it.”
