Heaven as a Frequency: Stephen Paul Chong on Life, Death and Coming Back

Episode Overview

  • Heaven is described as a frequency or vibration, and people arrive in the place that matches how they lived and treated others.
  • Karmic patterns and unresolved issues are suggested as reasons why a soul might choose to return to earth for another lifetime.
  • Forgiveness—of oneself and others—is presented as a way to release inner barriers and open to spiritual guidance and healing.
  • Stephen shares that love continues beyond physical death, and that relationships with those who have died can transform rather than end.
  • Quiet, simple activities and the moments before sleep and after waking are highlighted as powerful times to ask for help and sense spiritual support.
“It was so clear to me that heaven is not a geography. It is not a location. It is a frequency. It is a vibration.”

How do people find strength in their journey to sobriety and beyond? This conversation on UK Health Radio’s Feng Shui Your Way takes a gentle detour from cluttered rooms to questions about life, death and what might come next. Host Janine Lowe chats with author and spiritual teacher Stephen Paul Chong about his books The Afterlife: A Journey and The Afterlife: A Return From.

After a serious fall from a ladder left him temporarily unable to move, Stephen describes being “good for nothing” on the sofa while a title kept looping in his mind. Eventually, he sat at his computer, blank screen in front of him, and, as he says, “I heard this soul’s voice so clearly… two weeks to download all of this beautiful information.” That guiding voice introduced itself as Athar.

Together, Janine and Stephen talk about why any soul would leave a place of “peace, love and extraordinary beauty” to come back to earth. Stephen shares Athar’s view that heaven is “a frequency, it is a vibration” and that we “go where we fit in” based on how we’ve lived. Karma, unfinished business, and the chance to release old burdens all feature heavily. For anyone facing loss, the most moving parts centre on love and grief.

Stephen speaks of his late mother, saying the relationship hasn’t ended, it has “transformed”, and stresses that “no soul that passes is left to drift.” He also offers very practical habits: asking for help from spirit at night and on waking, using quiet everyday tasks like ironing to quiet the mind, and treating love as the bridge between this life and the next.

If you’re rethinking death, missing someone deeply, or just curious about what purpose might sit behind pain, this gentle, story-rich chat might give you a different way of looking at it all.
