“Dealing with addiction was something that I couldn't really do until I had my basic needs taken care of. So addressing those needs really wasn't something that I was looking at. I don't know if you've heard of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, but those basic psychosocial needs are something that you need to address before you can start looking at safety needs like housing, and then you start looking at love and kindness and relationships.”
