Treat every single day as if it's day one, whether you're 20 years sober or one day sober. We get into this complacency stage in life, and the next thing you know, you're back to square one. It's a whole process, and for me, I say that, well, and you're so right. It's funny that you say four or five years. Yeah, you do. Remember, you might not plan on being around opioid use, but you never know when it will be around you and you could save the life of somebody that loves and is loved.
Imagine battling addiction for over 25 years, facing relapse after relapse, and still finding the strength to rise again. That’s Chuck LaFlange’s story, and it’s nothing short of extraordinary. Known to some as Chris, Chuck's journey is a rollercoaster of highs and lows, with addiction constantly threatening to derail his life. Yet, amidst the chaos, he found moments of success in his career and entrepreneurial ventures, only to have them undermined by his struggles with substance abuse.
Everything changed when Chuck faced the unexpected loss of his father. This heartbreaking event became the catalyst for his journey towards sustainable recovery. Bolstered by his mother Norma's unwavering affirmations of love, Chuck sought help and began to confront his PTSD and the challenges of sobriety. Inspired by Norma’s support, he launched The Dopey Canuck Podcast, where he shares candid and often humorous stories from his addiction days.
