Step Six (Pt. 2): Embracing Change and Letting Go

We must become sick and tired of being sick and tired of existing with these defects, these sins that become idols that we bow down to, and we must pray for the willingness to have God's intervention extracting from us these spiritual malignant tumors of demise.

How ready are you to let go of your old self and embrace a new way of living? In this episode of 'Christians with Secret Addictions', Terry Hanna dives deeper into Step Six of the recovery program. This step is all about being entirely ready to have God remove all defects of character. Terry emphasizes that you need to be truly fed up with these flaws, which often become idols in our lives, to make room for real change.

He talks about the idea of 'dying to self' and shares his own journey of overcoming addiction. Terry explains how he reached a point where he was ready and willing to let God take the reins. He warns against trying to do it all on your own and stresses the importance of seeking God's wisdom and guidance for a transformative journey. Gratitude also plays a big role in recovery, according to Terry.

By focusing on the miracle of being rescued from addiction, you can find strength and hope. This episode is a heartfelt exploration of surrendering to a higher power and finding lasting change. Tune in next week when Terry will be joined by Joe Carney to discuss the importance of help, hope, and gratefulness in addiction recovery.
