Emily Souther: From High School Dropout to Recovery Advocate

I called myself recovered, but I hadn't recovered my mind because I had gone through and healed the trauma, so I was still a very angry person throughout these years, very angry, insecure, and I'd actually been called a narcissist by my father during this time, because I had only cared about myself and I didn't see that, and it actually took, like going through my bodybuilding phase, to actually recover.

Emily Souther's life took a dramatic turn when she dropped out of high school at 16 and moved in with her boyfriend. Initially, she was a hardworking young woman who didn't touch drugs or alcohol. But as she started mingling with a different crowd, her life began to spiral. What started as casual drinking and smoking weed escalated into a full-blown cocaine addiction.

Emily's story, shared on 'The Addiction Podcast - Point of No Return', offers a raw and honest look at the descent into addiction and the challenging climb back to sobriety. She talks about hitting rock bottom, the struggles of rehab, and the importance of resilience and community support in her recovery journey. Emily also opens up about battling an eating disorder and exercise bulimia, highlighting the complex layers of addiction.

Her message is clear: no matter how far you've fallen, there's always hope. Reach out for help and never give up.
