What happens when a high-achieving student finds herself caught in the throes of addiction? Growing up in Lafayette, Louisiana, Kristin excelled in school, joining Gifted and Talented programs.
Yet, her first encounter with alcohol at just 11 years old set off a chain of events that led to years of struggle. Arrested for grand larceny during a college drinking spree and facing multiple DWIs, Kristin knew she needed help after her third arrest. Through AA meetings and Positive Recovery, she learned to manage her anger and make healthier choices. Now sober, Kristin is a devoted mother and rescuer of abandoned animals.
Her story underscores the importance of support systems and setting meaningful goals. This episode offers a raw and honest look at the challenges of addiction and the power of recovery.
