Healing Through Trauma: Amy Guerrero’s Journey to Recovery Coaching

The body keeps the score. And so I was like they loved me for my spirit and my energy, but they had trouble, like meeting me where I was at, and so I would just fall in line at the treatment center and do all the things I was supposed to do and then be kind of in the background, spending a lot of time alone, writing everything down that I thought would work, and then I started teaching it to other people after I figured it out for myself, of course, and still do like this isn't like I'm done.
Picture this: you're navigating the choppy waters of recovery, grappling with trauma, and searching for a way to heal. In this episode of 'Get in the Herd', host Nathan Mitchell sits down with Amy Guerrero, a trauma-informed recovery life coach who knows these struggles all too well. Amy opens up about her personal journey from addiction to sobriety, shedding light on how trauma shaped her path and inspired her to help others.
Through heartfelt anecdotes and practical advice, Amy explains the significance of recognizing the energy within our bodies and how it influences our actions and relationships. She delves into the power of somatic experiencing, a therapeutic approach that focuses on the body's sensations to release trauma. Amy also shares how traveling for personal growth played a crucial role in her healing process. This episode is a treasure trove of insights for anyone looking to understand the intersection of trauma and recovery.
Whether you're in the midst of your own journey or supporting someone else, you'll find valuable takeaways on creating healthy relationships, overcoming self-doubt, and embracing personal growth. Tune in to hear Amy's inspiring story and learn more about the McShin Foundation's mission to heal families and save lives.
