Kortney Olsen: From Rock Bottom to Resilience
“Getting sober requires a rewiring of the brain and instead of reaching for a drink, we have to learn how to reach for support.”
Ever wondered how someone can turn a life filled with trauma and addiction into one of empowerment and success? Meet Kortney Olsen, the dynamic CEO of GRRRL Clothing, a women's empowerment brand. In this episode of 'One For The Road', hosted by David Wilson, Kortney opens up about her tumultuous journey, from surviving rape and battling an eating disorder to overcoming drug and alcohol addiction—all before the age of 21.
But Kortney’s story is far from just a tale of survival; it's a testament to the human spirit's capacity for resilience. She’s not your average motivational speaker; she’s a laughter yoga master, a Psych-K facilitator, and a champion in multiple sports, including arm wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Through candid conversations, Kortney shares how she rewired her brain, leaned on spirituality, and embraced non-judgment to find healing.
Her journey underscores the importance of reaching out for support and the power of positive thinking. Whether you're grappling with your own struggles or simply in need of a dose of inspiration, Kortney’s message of self-love and empowerment will leave you feeling uplifted. Tune in to hear how she turned her darkest days into a beacon of hope for others.
