Dar's Path to Freedom: From Addiction to Joyful Living
“It was interesting that god had gave me scriptures throughout, like somebody gave me a note card that has scripture. That kind of matched where I was at in my life, and it was just started. And I finally had gotten to a point that I was able to say: if I get the love of a man, if I get the love of my sisters, if I get the love of my children or a friend, if I get the love from them, that's a bonus on life, but my life doesn't count on it.”
Ever wondered if there's a way out of the darkest corners of addiction? In this episode of 'Real Recovery', hosts Bill Arnold and George Fraser reflect on Step 2 of the recovery process: coming to believe in a power greater than ourselves that can restore us to sanity. They are joined by Dar, who shares her compelling story of hitting rock bottom due to cocaine and alcohol addiction.
Dar's journey through the Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge led her to lasting freedom and a new life filled with hope and joy in Jesus. She talks candidly about dealing with trauma, the importance of self-discovery, and finding purpose in the recovery process. Dar's story is a beacon of hope for anyone struggling with addiction, showing that faith can be a powerful tool for transformation.
