From Shadows to Light: Regla_Girl's Journey of Healing from Childhood Abuse
So this is how we can stand and have our testimony. When we share our testimonies with certain people, I know, you know a lot of people, you know, one time tracy was telling me that she shared her testimony with this lady that she was just walking with, and you know what sometimes you put it in your heart to share with a random person.
Meet Regla_Girl from San Diego, a brave survivor of childhood abuse and a returning member of the National Association of Adult Survivors of Child Abuse (NAASCA). In this episode of 'Stop Child Abuse Now', she shares her harrowing yet inspiring story of enduring ritualistic sexual abuse by female family members, including her own mother. Growing up in an Irish Catholic community, her trauma began at a tender age of 5 or 6 and was compounded by family violence.
To cope, she turned to alcohol and drugs, which spiraled into severe addiction by her late teens. But this isn't just a tale of suffering; it's one of resilience and recovery. Regla_Girl talks candidly about her journey through the 12-Step process and how it became a cornerstone of her healing. Despite achieving professional success, she struggled with severe eating disorders and emotional turmoil.
It was only when relationship issues forced her to confront her past that she truly began to heal. She found solace in spirituality and the supportive community at NAASCA. One key takeaway from her story is the power of speaking out. By sharing her experiences, she not only found strength but also inspired others to break their silence. This episode underscores the profound impact of childhood trauma and the importance of seeking help and support.
It's a moving conversation that offers hope and practical advice for anyone grappling with similar issues.
