I kind of used all of that, I guess, negative talk, stereotypes, as some motivators, because I knew at the end of the day, when I was so broken and I was by myself, that I could only really pull myself out of here, I was going to need support along the way.
What happens when the bright lights of a promising football career dim due to addiction? Alton Voss knows this story all too well. In this episode of 'The Recovering Reality Podcast', Alton opens up about his journey from a full-ride scholarship at the University of South Florida to battling addiction. Initially, Alton had his eyes set on the NFL, but anxiety, depression, and unmet expectations led him down a dark path of drugs and alcohol.

He played four years at Grand Valley State University, earning accolades and graduating with a degree in Communications.
