Tools When Disturbed or Agitated: A Guided Meditation to Find Peace and Joy

When we only have to play our part that's given to us. We don't even have to write our part, we just play the part that's given to us. And let god be the director, what peace and joy just that one little shift brings in my life.
Sober Meditations is an app that provides contemplative alcohol recovery meditations, recorded by recovering alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope in a meditation format. In the sixth episode of the 'Tools When Disturbed or Agitated' series, Buddy C. guides listeners through a 10-minute meditation that focuses on moving from being the director to playing your part and finding peace and joy.
He starts the meditation by instructing listeners to sit back in a comfortable position and allow their bodies to relax. He then encourages them to focus on their breath, allowing it to return to its natural rhythm and to notice any sounds in their environment without labeling them as 'noise.' Buddy C. explains that our resistance to sounds and other stimuli often leads to disturbance and angst in our lives.
He suggests that we learn to accept and be grateful for what we have, rather than resisting it. He also encourages listeners to practice compassion towards others, recognizing that everyone is playing their part in life, just like actors in a play. By choosing to let God be the director of our lives, we can find peace and joy in our roles and reduce the level of disturbance and fight in our lives. Buddy C.
reminds listeners to write down any experiences they had during the meditation and to discuss them with a sponsor or a friend in recovery if necessary. He also emphasizes the importance of helping others and living in the present moment.
