As a matter of fact, for the young people, for the benefit of the young people, when I started trying to get sober in the early 80s, right, in California, right, I would go to these meetings and there wasn't anybody within 25 years of my age at any of the meetings I was going to, right? You don't need to worry that wasn't.
Imagine sitting in a room, feeling the weight of years of struggle, and then hearing someone who’s been through it all lay out a path to recovery. That’s what you get in this episode of Sober Cast, where California Rob, with 26 years of sobriety under his belt, leads a comprehensive workshop on the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Recorded in April 2014 for the 3 Legacies Group in Winter Garden, Florida, this 7.5-hour session is packed with insights and practical advice. Rob doesn’t just skim the surface; he starts from the very beginning of the AA Big Book and works his way through to the end of the first 164 pages. He shares his personal experiences and reflections, making the principles come alive in a way that’s both relatable and inspiring.
Whether you’re new to AA or have been around for a while, Rob’s detailed breakdown of each step offers something valuable for everyone.
