  • Yoga and meditation can support sobriety by creating stillness, building self-awareness and opening space for inner peace.
  • True fulfilment comes from spiritual connection and "knowing thyself," rather than chasing jobs, relationships or material status.
  • Life activation and initiation are presented as tools to bring more light into the body, strengthen purpose and reduce the pull of old patterns.
  • Practising gratitude, kindness and conscious language is framed as everyday work that raises personal vibration and supports collective healing.
“I wanted the world to know that you transform from the inside out.”

What drives someone to seek a life without alcohol? This conversation on the Great Awakening Show follows Anna Anderson’s journey from rebellious teen and heavy drinker to spiritual guide focused on inner transformation.

Growing up in Devon, Anna describes an "idyllic childhood" that shifted at age 12 when she felt life was just "get a job and then die." That disconnect pushed her into drinking, partying and running with the wrong crowd, even while appearing to be the "good girl" succeeding at school. By her mid-twenties, she had the classic corporate success story in London — good job, outward stability — yet inside she was "miserable," drinking heavily and lacking self-awareness and confidence.

Everything changed after she became a single mother. Still drinking when her son wasn’t with her and struggling with her mental health, she reached a point where, as she puts it, "the tools that I were using wasn’t working." Hungover on a Sunday, she searched "jobs for mums" and decided to train with a yoga franchise.

Teaching yoga became the doorway to her own healing, helping her find peace, change how she ate, grow a business, write a book and build healthier relationships. From there, Anna moved into life activation, initiation and the ancient mystery school lineage of King Solomon. She explains how working with light, the Kabbalistic tree of life and hermetic principles supports people to "know thyself," cut through the negative ego and move towards purpose.

Joanne-Divine Life Yogini and Anna talk about addiction to material success, how chasing the "next job, the next distraction" numbs discomfort, and why true fulfilment is spiritual rather than external. If you’re curious how inner work, meditation, yoga and spiritual practices can support sobriety and deeper self-knowledge, this episode offers a mix of raw honesty and practical spiritual tools. Could knowing yourself more deeply be the key to changing your relationship with alcohol and with life?
