“It's a hard thing when you've been able to rely on your brain to make decisions, to set goals. And when it came to alcohol, I would make a decision every morning, I'm not drinking today. And then about three or four o'clock that same day, I felt like I was starting to change my mind. I mean, that was probably an overreaction. Only in retrospect can I see my mind, my willpower making up my mind, making a commitment was of absolutely no avail.”
Imagine juggling the demands of law school, single parenthood, and a growing addiction. Marsha Stone did just that. Growing up in Southern Georgia, she was no stranger to generational alcoholism.
