But she doesn't have a personality, you know, that's perfect. You know, with Cammy's on, I don't think he really believed me how bad it was. Like he wasn't, there was no in-depth conversation. There was no, he wasn't emotional about it. I mean, he doesn't really have emotions, I don't think.
Heather Hutchison's world turned upside down when her young son began to struggle with severe mental health issues. Imagine sitting across from a doctor who suggests psychiatric hospitalization for your three-year-old. That was just the beginning for Heather. Over the years, she faced a whirlwind of emotions, from guilt and frustration to a desperate hope that each hospital stay might bring some sense of normalcy.
Despite 13 hospitalizations and countless moments of feeling blamed by others, Heather never gave up on her son. At age 15, after particularly violent outbursts, her son was admitted to a residential treatment program. The mix of relief and guilt she felt was overwhelming. Heather's story is one of immense strength and unwavering advocacy for her child's well-being.
She opens up about the deep depression and complex grief she experienced, all while trying to do right by her son and her other children. Her journey is a testament to the power of resilience and the importance of community support. This episode is a must-listen for any parent navigating similar challenges, offering a beacon of hope and understanding.
