“The longer that you're sober and the more of a solid foundation that you have, you can start chasing money more, of course, because in the beginning, maybe you're going to seven meetings a week and you're meeting with your sponsor once or twice a week and maybe you're in a treatment program and there's some sort of clinical requirement. Those things need to be priority, of course, but the longer that you stay sober, those things become less of a priority because you're not in such an acute state of addiction.”
