Kyle Early's Journey: From Rock Bottom to Veteran Champion
And I truly believe that food is medicine, and I talked about that earlier.
Ever wondered how someone can rise from the depths of despair to become a beacon of hope for others? In this episode of 'Voices of Valor', host Allen Steele sits down with Army Infantry Veteran Kyle Early. Hailing from Moore, Oklahoma, Kyle's story is one of incredible transformation. After joining the United States Army in 2008 and serving in Mosul, Iraq, he returned home in 2012 to face a new battle: homelessness and addiction.
Struggling with suicidal thoughts, Kyle found himself at rock bottom. But instead of giving up, he sought out natural medicine as an alternative to pharmaceuticals. This journey led him to start Active Duty Rx in 2018, using plants from around the world to improve veterans' quality of life. Kyle also founded Battle on the Homefront, a veteran outreach program that empowers veterans to grow their own medicine and rebuild camaraderie.
Today, Kyle mentors veterans through Jekyll Investments and runs Early Bird Farms, an organic vegetable farm in Oklahoma. This episode is a raw and heartfelt conversation about overcoming addiction, mental health struggles, and the power of community and natural medicine. Tune in to hear Kyle's inspiring story and learn how he's making a difference in the lives of veterans.
