“I think about what you read, Bambi, in that book. And when I got into treatment, I remember thinking like, holy shit, I'm ready for step eight, nine. I want to make these amends and I want to make these relationships right now. Thank God I wasn't able to make amends when I wanted to make amends. And, you know, it took time. And one day at a time and really allowing them to have their space and not trying to force this relationship on them that we all want it, but we had to build it.”
