Born prematurely and spending her first six months in an incubator, Jackie grew up believing she was too weak to achieve anything. This belief followed her into adulthood, where alcohol became her crutch to mask pain and self-doubt.
Despite her professional success as a vice president of a bank, Jackie’s personal life was marred by abusive marriages and worsening alcoholism. It wasn’t until her 31st psychiatrist mandated weekly AA meetings that Jackie reluctantly attended her first session. What started as a begrudging obligation soon became a lifeline. Through AA, Jackie confronted her addiction head-on, embraced honesty, and found strength in vulnerability. Her story underscores the importance of community and the transformative power of AA.
