Jackie’s Heartfelt Tribute to Her Son Jackson

I firmly believe that all of our children are going to want us to keep doing what we're doing.
Imagine preparing for your child's 20th birthday, only to be called to the hospital instead. This is the devastating reality Jackie faced when her son, Jackson, passed away from an accidental overdose. Jackson wasn’t just another statistic; he was a towering figure at 6’4” and 220 lbs, a talented athlete who wrestled and played football throughout high school. He loved video games, cooking, crafting, fishing, and hunting.
Jackie fondly recalls their special bond, always telling him, 'I will love you forever'. In this episode of 'Voices of Solace', Jackie opens up about the heartbreak of losing Jackson and the struggle to find a way forward. She believes his experimentation with marijuana might have led him to stronger substances like opioids. Despite the overwhelming pain, Jackie finds ways to honor Jackson’s memory by continuing activities they enjoyed together, such as trips to Disneyland.
Jackie also shares her advice for others facing similar losses: 'Just breathe' and remember that support is just a phone call away. Her story is a poignant reminder that while grief can be isolating, you are not alone. The episode offers a blend of sorrow and hope, showing that even in the darkest times, there is a path toward healing.
Tune in to hear Jackie’s full story and gain insight into coping with the loss of a loved one while keeping their memory alive.
