I was incredibly lucky because my husband also quit drinking and using. And by the end of our career of drinking, we were also doing coke and meth and I was seeing bugs everywhere and just life was scary. My sober date is Valentine's Day, February 14th, 2020. So I just hit my one year and life has gotten so much better. I couldn't have dreamed of how happy I am now. You know, life isn't perfect. It's not always, you know, rainbows and unicorns and pink clouds. I have a sponsor. My sponsor has a sponsor. I have a sponsor. My sponsor has a sponsor. Personally, I just said during a meeting, you know, hey, I need a sponsor. And I was contacted by somebody. And I was lucky because she's been an awesome sponsor. She's got 21 years of sobriety and she's been taking me through the steps. I'm just starting step eight. And step four was incredible. But it led me to understand so many things about problems I've had with people and what my side of the problem was, what my part was in everything. It took me months and months and months to get through it because I was so thorough, but it led to an incredible amount of self-knowledge, and it was so incredibly rewarding.
