After coming out on MTV in an emotionally charged and very public way Joel’s star was on the rise. His talent was very evident to everyone in Hollywood as he rose through the ranks and became a well known and respected executive producer. Best known for his work executive producing NBC’s hit show The Biggest Loser, his work also includes Hell's Kitchen and Going For Broke with Ashton Kutcher. On the outside Joel seemed to have it all. The cars, the house, the money, and the dream Hollywood job, but in the inside he was sad and lonely, and turned to alcohol to numb the pain. Listen as Joel vulnerably shares about coming to terms with childhood trauma, finding recovery and now turning his attention to smashing the stigma of mental health issues and addiction through his program Change Your Algorithm. Change Your Algorithm is a program about personal growth and community-wide empowerment for its members. This is accomplished by reprogramming negative beliefs that have held us back from living our full potential. CYA teaches its community that the mind consists of 2 parts: The Conscious Mind (10% of brainpower) and the Subconscious Mind (90% of brainpower). CYA encourages its community to shift the negative self-beliefs in the subconscious through holistic and traditional techniques such as meditation, journaling, practicing gratitude, self-forgiveness, creating healthy boundaries, and raising our self-esteem. It is through the consistent utilization of these practices and the support of a community of peers that we can start to develop self-esteem and live a life of purpose. Visit www.changeyouralgorithm.com to learn more and to register for free classes. Change Your Algorithm offers weekly mental health classes that are 100% free of cost.
