“Couldn’t seem to be of real help to people. Pray to misery and depression. That was my human condition. I had to access something, and for a while, alcohol and opiates and things like that were a solution to that condition, right? Until they weren’t. Until they were providing greater complexity. All right. So then, based on that admission, now I know that those are true. I have this unmanageable thing within me that’s causing me to paint the world I live in progressively more difficult. And so I medicate because that’s what I got to do to survive. Are you clapping for medication?”
