Boundaries, Brave Healing and Being a Woman: Shirley Solis Shares Her Live Life Experience

Episode Overview

  • Crisis in a marriage, including sex and pornography addiction, can become a catalyst for deep personal healing rather than a final sentence.
  • Journalling and honest prayer helped Shirley move from a punishing view of God to one based on unconditional love and guidance.
  • Healthy boundaries are different from walls; they create safety and mutual respect instead of distance and control.
  • Working on yourself first, rather than "fixing the relationship", can transform a marriage and family dynamic from the inside out.
  • The belief that women must do everything alone is a powerful but damaging story that can be rewritten with support and community.
"Boundaries, not protective walls, just boundaries. Boundaries that keep safe. I honor you, you honor me, I can do me, you can do you."

What drives someone to seek a life where love, boundaries, and recovery all fit in the same sentence? This conversation with peak performance coach and mother of six, Shirley Solis, speaks directly to women who are tired of feeling alone in their pain and their healing. Shirley shares how discovering her husband's sex and pornography addiction shattered her image of marriage and forced her into deep personal work.

Rather than staying in victim mode, she talks about how that crisis pushed her to heal childhood sexual abuse, abandonment, and the belief that she had to "do everything alone"—in parenting, marriage, and business. You’ll hear how journalling became her way of hearing from God directly, shifting from a punishing or transactional view of faith to one rooted in unconditional love.

She and host Omar Pinto swap stories about moving from bargaining with God to simply saying, "show me what to do and I will do it." One of the most powerful themes is boundaries. Shirley recalls growing up in a Latino home where "Mi casa es su casa" meant no limits at all. Now, she laughs as she says, "Anybody crosses one dash of my boundaries? I'm like, excuse me?

There are boundaries?" She explains how learning to set healthy limits turned her from an enabler into a woman who can love without losing herself. Shirley also talks about the Live Life Experience, her three-day Miami event for women, where she compresses years of healing into an intensive mix of tools, coaching, music, and movement.

Her goal is clear: help women stop doing life in martyr mode and step into a healthier version of strength that actually includes men instead of treating them as the enemy. If you’ve ever felt like you’re carrying the whole family on your back, this conversation might be the nudge to ask: do you really have to keep doing it all alone?
