The Art of Making Amends: Insights from Dayna Keyes and Justin P.

I got inspired by some other people that did some of the things I did recently to go back into the original amends that I didn't make. You know, yeah, it's so easy to just you could have the willingness and go out and make all your amends right, but having a true sort of connection to knowing what you did and maybe why you did it, and figuring that out in the process of asking them- because I was told you can never understand or truly comprehend what you really did to them- you know when you did yeah, because you were so immersed in yourself at that time and still are yeah.
Ever wondered how to truly make amends for past mistakes? In this episode of 'Radio Rehab with Dayna Keyes', Dayna and her guest co-host Justin P. dive deep into the delicate process of making amends during addiction recovery. This isn't just about saying sorry; it's about understanding the impact of your actions and genuinely connecting with those you've hurt.
Dayna, a seasoned radio personality and recovering addict, brings her unique perspective and humor to the conversation, making it both enlightening and engaging. Justin shares his own journey, recounting the extraordinary lengths he went to in order to find people he needed to apologize to, including hiring a private investigator. He talks about the letters he wrote to people he couldn't locate and the emotional weight of those unsent apologies.
The episode doesn't shy away from the hard truths—making amends often doesn't go as planned. Both Dayna and Justin discuss the importance of humility, honesty, and faith in the process. They touch on the reality that not everyone will be receptive, and sometimes, the most significant part of making amends is coming to terms with your own actions and their consequences.
For anyone grappling with addiction or supporting someone who is, this episode offers valuable tools and heartfelt stories that resonate deeply. It's a raw, real look at the path to forgiveness and the healing that comes with it. Tune in to hear Dayna and Justin's candid discussion—you might just find the inspiration you need to take the next step in your recovery journey.
