I understand profoundly that the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous is not a replacement for alcoholism, but it is a sufficient replacement for alcohol. And I could stay. Thank God for conferences. Thank God when they had hospitality rooms at conferences, because I was poor, and you know, it's the only way I ate. Thank God for AA dances. There were about 40 young people in Sioux City, Iowa, getting sober with me. How does that happen? How does that happen?
