“One of the neat things I've gotten to experience, coming into Alcoholics Anonymous, experiencing grace, which keeps me sober. Being in the streets and a lot of bad things happening to me, getting involved in a lot of illegal things, it was grace that kept me from going to prison. And I come into Alcoholics Anonymous and based on my track record, I should have been drunk many times in Alcoholics Anonymous, and based on my track record, I should have been drunk many times in Alcoholics Anonymous in the early days. And I have found a huge difference in getting grace, which is kind of like this gift from God just to be one of his children, which we would do if any of us have children. That's what God has done for me in the near misses and keeping me sober, but somehow I'm able to experience that power, which breathes life into me and keeps me in the position of child be safe and protected and unharmed.”
