“We as family members, we as partners, entourage of a loved one struggling with substance use, we have such high expectations of what they need to do. We always have a long list of what they need to accomplish, what they need to change, what they need to flip around. And we often forget that we can do just as much shifting, growing, changing, learning, opening, letting go. It's parallel work and it just kind of creates exponential possibilities, I think, in terms of what your loved one can then do, how you're supporting them.”
