Finding Purpose: Adam Banotai on Supporting Veterans Post-Service

The number one cause for veterans coming home and struggling is the lack of sense of purpose. That when you lace up your boots in the military, whether those are army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force boots, you have one single purpose and you have a bunch of brothers and sisters by your side with the same purpose. That purpose might be to get these jets ready to fly and drop some bombs. It might be to defend this hill, defend this village or to take over this country, whatever it is. You have a single purpose: you come home and you lose that single purpose.
Imagine dedicating years of your life to serving your country, only to return home and feel utterly lost. In this episode of 'The Situation Report', Adam Banotai, President of One Fight Foundation, dives into the often overlooked struggles veterans face when transitioning from military to civilian life. Adam shares how the lack of a clear mission after service can leave veterans feeling purposeless, leading to mental health issues and risky behaviors.
He underscores the critical role civilians play in helping veterans find new directions and purpose. Adam also highlights One Fight Foundation’s unique approach to tackling veteran suicide through peer-to-peer, non-medicated support groups. This episode is a heartfelt call to action for everyone to step up and support our heroes as they navigate life after service. Tune in for an eye-opening discussion that sheds light on the importance of purpose in veterans' well-being.
