I've been sober since April 24th of 1988, and I'm grateful to that. People introduced themselves in the beginning of our meeting that way, and I was offended. I thought, who are these show-offs talking about how great they are? And I was informed that that was the reason they introduced themselves that way, was just so they could talk about why they were sober, the good credit where credit's due. And it is because of the grace of a loving God I found after I got to AA.
