From Struggle to Strength: Denny Kolsch's Journey Through Anxiety and Opioid Addiction

The most rewarding part, I would say, is the stories. The people that came to us and had been actively addicted to opioids for A Decade had a mother bring them in. But seeing the transformation of a person from quite literally, at times, homelessness, to being functional, being well, being, happy, it's what I'm here for.

Ever felt like you're drowning in anxiety or addiction? Denny Kolsch has been there. In this episode of 'To Write Love on Her Arms', host Jamie Tworkowski sits down with Denny, a licensed mental health counselor and co-founder of Peace Club, an opioid recovery community in Cocoa Beach, FL. Denny opens up about his own battle with anxiety and opioid addiction, sharing how he clawed his way back to sobriety and found a new purpose in life.

Now, he's dedicated to helping others find their way out of the darkness. Denny's story is a raw and honest look at the struggles many face but rarely talk about. He emphasizes the power of community and relationships in the healing process, illustrating how vital it is to have a support system.

'The most rewarding part,' he says, 'is seeing the transformation of someone from homelessness to happiness.' It's a testament to the impact that one person can have on many lives. Throughout the conversation, Denny also sheds light on the ongoing opioid crisis, urging for more action and awareness. His work at Peace Club is not just about treating addiction; it's about rebuilding lives and fostering a sense of belonging and hope.

If you're looking for an inspiring tale of resilience and recovery, this episode is a must-listen. Whether you're struggling yourself or supporting someone who is, Denny's journey offers valuable insights and a beacon of hope.
