Sheila Jane's Take on Comfort Days: A Key to Sustainable Weight Loss
“For me personally, this might not be for you take what you like and leave the rest, but a comfort day more aligns with what I'm trying to do to succeed health wise on my journey, which is my mental health is important, and there's days when I just need to kind of stay within the boundaries of my program, but give myself more leeway so that I can love myself, take care of myself, comfort myself and have that cushion built in, because that's something I'm not good at.”
Imagine having a chat with a friend who’s been through the ups and downs of weight loss and recovery. That's exactly what you get with Sheila Jane in this episode of 'Weight Loss & Recovery'. Sheila, who’s successfully lost 40 pounds and is on the WW (Weight Watchers) Purple Plan, opens up about why she avoids cheat days and instead embraces what she calls 'comfort days'.
These are days where she stays within her program's boundaries but allows herself a bit more flexibility to maintain her mental health. Sheila’s approach isn’t just about shedding pounds; it’s about building a healthier relationship with her body and mind. She delves into how comfort days help her manage stress, cope with friendship breakups, and deal with insecurities. Sheila also touches on the importance of not letting others' judgments affect her journey.
For those looking for practical advice, she even shares some of her favorite weight loss workouts available on Amazon. Whether you’re on a weight loss journey yourself or supporting someone who is, Sheila’s insights offer a refreshing perspective on balancing discipline with self-care.
