Untangle Whiteness

Untangle & Thrive Podcast

Whiteness is like an addiction: cunning, powerful, baffling. Many of us are waking up from a Whiteness morphine drip. It is confusing, disorientating, and liberating. I am working with the work Whiteness to help people locate their unconscious relationship with it. When you think about it, none of our problems are technically difficult to explain. T Their difficulty resides in they are disconnected or in unconsciousness conflict. In coherency, our creative powers are boundless. When all of our organizing system (unconscious and conscious) can agree on what is important, what else might we achieve? This is always the next question when we awaken to our power. We are at a tipping point for systematic change. Let's continue to wake up and dismantle Whiteness and replace it with Humanity.

Facing Whiteness: Unpacking Unconscious Bias with Angela McKinney

Get uncomfortable with it, see the ugliness, see how you benefited, see how you've liked it, own it, own it, and then you can get present with it.

What if confronting your unconscious biases could lead to a more fulfilling and connected life? Angela McKinney, an addiction-recovery expert and speaker, dives into this provocative topic in an episode of the 'Untangle & Thrive' podcast. Angela compares the concept of whiteness to an addiction—cunning, powerful, and baffling. Through her 3-Step system of self-care, The Untangle Method™, she explores how we can identify and dismantle our unconscious relationship with whiteness.

Angela's approach is both insightful and practical, blending neurobiology research with creative strategies to improve life quality. She emphasizes the importance of getting uncomfortable with our biases, seeing their ugliness, and owning them. By doing so, she believes we can rupture the denial that often surrounds these issues and experience liberation and growth. Listeners will find Angela's candid storytelling and sensitive guidance both engaging and enlightening.

This episode isn't just about recognizing bias; it's about transforming how we perceive and react to our environment. Angela invites us to imagine what we might achieve when all parts of our organizing system—both conscious and unconscious—agree on what is important. If you're ready to confront your unconscious biases and explore deeper self-improvement, this episode offers a fresh perspective on habits, decision-making, and continuous improvement.

Tune in to 'Untangle & Thrive' for a thought-provoking journey towards dismantling whiteness and embracing humanity.
